A 14-year-old schoolgirl was found dead on the morning of Thursday, June 9, behind the school in Clessé (Saône-et-Loire), near Mâcon, AFP learned from a source close to the investigation. A boy, her boyfriend, was taken into custody and confessed to having stabbed him, announced the public prosecutor of Mâcon this Thursday evening at a press conference.
The girl’s body showed the marks of several dozen stab wounds on her upper body, face and neck, the prosecutor said, explaining that her nose had been “broken“. His body was discovered around 6:40 a.m., he said.

“The first hearings of the victim’s friends revealed that she had a romantic relationshipwith the suspect. “Since the beginning of the week, they met between midnight and 4 a.m. in the village of Clessé. This boy had said disturbing words, evoking the fact of wanting to kill someone and in particular his girlfriend, which his friends had not taken seriously“, also explained the prosecutor.

According to the rector of the Dijon Academy, Pierre N’Gahanne, the young girl was in fourth grade at the college of Lugny, a town near her village of Clessé, where she had completed all her primary schooling. “What happened is totally incomprehensible“, he told BFMTV, adding that”no reports of harassmenthad been done in the college of the victim. “She was a problem-free child who worked well“, he insisted. Asked about reports that she had just been through a painful breakup, the rector said it was “possible“.
The research section of the Dijon gendarmerie deployed an important device in this wine-growing village of 800 inhabitants, located about fifteen kilometers north of Mâcon. The school was closed on Thursday.
