Saint-Brieuc: a man would have killed his daughter and his companion before committing suicide

Shortly before 4 p.m. this Sunday, January 22, shots rang out in an HLM complex at 11 rue Célestin Bouglé, in the Villages district, in Saint-Brieuc. Neighbors immediately called the police station. Arrived on the spot, the police forces broke down the door of an apartment from which the shots came, explained Nicolas Heitz, public prosecutor.

Grandmother shot

Inside the dwelling, officials discovered three bodies and a hunting weapon. The bodies of a couple, a 24-year-old man and his 22-year-old wife, as well as that of their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter. In the house, the police also found the mother of the companion, 59 years old. Wounded by a bullet, she is nevertheless still conscious and was transported by SAMU to the Brest hospital center.

The father not known to the police

The police station of Saint-Brieuc was seized of the investigation, supported by the judicial identity and the judicial police of Rennes. The three bodies will be the subject of an autopsy at the forensic institute of Rennes, this Monday, January 23. The father, who would be the perpetrator, was not known to the police. However, checks are in progress.

According to the first elements, “we can assume that the alleged shooter is this 24-year-old man,” said Nicolas Heitz, still at the scene of the tragedy at 9 p.m. This father would then have committed suicide. The public prosecutor should hold a press conference on Monday January 23 or Tuesday January 24 at the Saint-Brieuc court.
