Olympique de Marseille know their opponent for the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France. Placed in group A, the Marseille club did not go far from finding Nice next January. Finally, the Olympians will travel to Hyères to face the local club which is playing in National 2. A reasonable draw for Igor Tudor’s men who must not fall into the trap set by their opponents to qualify for the rest of the competition.
In the wake of the draw, Jean-Pierre Papin, the new adviser to Pablo Longoria, wanted to recall that the Coupe de France is one of the objectives of Olympique de Marseille: “a short trip but a match where you have to be careful. The last time Hyères faced Marseille, in 1940, Hyères had won, recalled Pablo Longoria’s adviser to OM. The Coupe de France must remain an objective because it is one of the finest competitions. And then that qualifies for Europe. It must be a goal of the club.
