Radeon RX 7000 series (source: AMD)
In Graphics Cards
Faced with the new GeForce RTX 40 series from Nvidia, AMD will launch its Radeon RX 7000 series. This new generation of gaming graphics card will be based on the RDNA 3 processor architecture.
Of recent rumors evoke a mechanism capable of reaching a frequency of 4 GHz. This symbolic bar is plausible knowing that the current offer (the Radeon RX 6000 series) can reach 3 GHz.
The frequency will not be the only lever used by AMD to try to compete with the performance promised by the new cards from Nvidia. Expect a significant increase
- the number of shaders
- bandwidth (+70% through a 384-bit bus and GDDR6X at 20 Gbps or more),
- and a faster, bigger Infinity Cache.
All this should allow a gain of more than 50% of the perf/watt ratio compared to the current generation.
