Funeral of Elizabeth II: the real reason behind the tears of Princess Charlotte

Present at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday September 19, 2022, Princess Charlotte was seen in tears during the ceremony. However, Prince William’s daughter was not crying.

The date of Thursday 8 September 2022 will now be commemorated annually in the UK. On this day, the record reign of Queen Elizabeth II came to an end, when the British sovereign died at the age of 96. The monarch died peacefully surrounded by her family, who had gathered at his bedside the same day, in his second home in Balmoral, Scotland. As a reminder, Elizabeth II ascended the British throne in 1952, succeeding her father, King George VI. At the time of the death of the previous monarch, the young queen was only 25 years old. Subsequently, she became one of the most popular sovereigns in the entire history of Great Britain. In total, Elizabeth II reigned over England for 70 years.

Only a few months before her death, Elizabeth II had celebrated her Platinum Jubilee. By having become Britain’s longest-reigning sovereign in UK history, she allowed her eldest son Charles to also break a record. Born to succeed his mother on the throne, he was finally crowned king at the age of 73, thus becoming the oldest monarch to accede to the throne. Since his proclamation as king, he reigns under the name of Charles III. For their part, the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II took place on Monday, September 19, 2022, 10 days after her death, as stipulated in the official protocol. Before the celebration of his funeral, the coffin of the late Queen was transported to London, to be exposed in Westminster Hall for a few days. British citizens were thus able to move to pay him a final tribute.

Funeral of Elizabeth II: Princess Charlotte was not crying during the ceremony

Broadcast live around the world, the fury of Elizabeth II brought together all the members of the British royal family. Viewers were able to see King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, Meghan MarklePrincess Charlotte, Prince George, James Mountbatten-Windsor, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward etc. Among these, Prince George and Princess Charlotte stood out several times throughout the ceremony.

First of all, Prince George wore a navy blue outfitwhich raised many questions.. Prince William’s eldest son, destined to ascend the throne one day, also appeared dissipated during the coffin procession through the streets of London, which somewhat annoyed his little sister. Princess Charlotte therefore reframed him so that he respected official protocol like everyone else. Later during the ceremony, Kate Middleton’s daughter was seen crying. In fact, according to the information disclosed by hello magazinethe princess was not wiping tears on the pictures that were relayed in the press. It looked like she was removing something from her eyes, or else shielding herself from the sun.
