Benoît Delaval replaces Laurent Bessière, the performance director of RC Lens

A week after the person concerned submitted his resignation in good and due form, RC Lens found the successor of Laurent Bessière, its performance director who was on a permanent contract and chose to join the Nice project at the end of the 15th day of L1, after appeal from the foot of Florent Ghisolfi, former sports director who joined the organization chart of the Aiglons.

According to our information, it is Benoît Delaval who was the athletic trainer of Leeds, taken in his luggage by Marcelo Bielsa after the dismissal of the Argentine coach at LOSC. He signed up for five years, the same as general manager Franck Haise.

A former LOSC

Trained in Ascq (Nord), Delaval learned all his skills at LOSC where he started in the early 2000s in the chick category up to the first professional team. He knows the region very well where he has family and wanted to come back. His profile pleased the artesian club and Franck Haise, in particular because he integrated into his work the difficulty of preparing a team every three days, maintaining its intensity and protecting it from injuries when competitions follow one another with the championship and the European Cup.

The arrival of Delaval should accelerate, even facilitate the effective departure of Bessière, whose contractual notice runs until February. As for Ghislain Dubois, one of Bessière’s assistants in charge of physical preparation, muscle prevention and bodybuilding, who had also announced his departure in the Bollaert-Delelis locker room on the evening of the success against Clermont Foot , he is under contract (CDD) until June 2027.
