ASSE has formalized the arrival of Emmanuel Da Costa. Laurent Batlles’ assistant has had ups and downs in his career.
New coach of AS Saint-Etienne, Laurent Batlles has carte blanche to build a staff, Julien Sablé having been pushed out to make room. The Greens have thus announced the arrival of several members in the technical staff, and in particular a name which surprised among the Saint-Etienne supporters. This is Emmanuel Da Costa, a technician who passed his coaching diplomas with Laurent Batlles, and who obviously remained close to him. A way to relaunch for the coach revealed to Quevilly between 2013 and 2020, and who had notably taken the club close to Rouen to Ligue 2.
👋 Welcome Emmanuel Da Costa!
The former coach of Quevilly Rouen Métropole, which he notably managed in @Ligue2BKTwill be responsible for assisting Laurent Batlles in the management of the professional group.

But since then, things have gotten complicated for Manu Da Costa, who experienced the slums of the National with Lyon-Duchère, then with Créteil, finally relegated to National 2. Two failures who therefore raise the former Rouen player to the rank of assistant, even if the Saint-Etienne supporters and followers will also be attentive to his sometimes sulphurous past.
Attention, write “Emmanuel Da Costa”. Still. Otherwise Manu gets angry. pic.twitter.com/cykIbyUZdr

This is the case of Ilyes Ramdani, journalist for Médiapart, who wanted to immediately highlight an unflattering episode from the past of the new assistant coach of ASSE.
